Joint manager of Laois camogie team, Pat Collier praised his side’s relentless work rate and resilience after they secured a hard-earned win over Derry in testing conditions on Saturday.

Laois were beaten for the second time in this year’s Allianz Football League Division 3 as Clare had three points to spare when the final hooter sounded in Ennis on Sunday.

Laois faced their toughest test of their NHL Division 2 campaign so far with the arrival of Kerry to Portlaoise on Saturday, and Laois boss Tommy Fitzgerald was relieved to see his side come out on top of a tense battle.

LAOIS ladies’ first win of the Division 3 campaign may have arrived early in the spring, but its significance stretches far beyond the three league points collected in Rathkeale.

THE Camogie Association this week launched the 50th anniversary of their National Leagues. The occasion also marked Centra as title sponsor for the first time, in a four year partnership with the Camogie Association.

STEPHEN Duff finally saw his Laois ladies side record their first win of this year’s Division 3 campaign as they cruised to victory over Limerick on Sunday afternoon.

MICHAEL Dowling’s journey in rounders did not begin with a bat and ball, nor with dreams of All-Ireland titles or national leadership. It began, as so many great sporting stories do, with a simple willingness to help.
